Should school uniform be banned? - by Kate, Larissa and Zuzanna
Many people across the country have contrasting opinions on the subject of school uniform. They have a range of different reasons for believing whether it is good or bad. Some think people are more likely to get bullied or other things like they think it is too expensive.
We have gathered some opinions from 28 people around our school, the questions we asked were:
Do you think school uniform should be banned? (18 yes and 10 said no)
Do you feel comfortable in school uniform? (14 yes and 14 said no)
Do you think you would get picked on if you wear your own clothes? (9 said yes, 16 said no and 2 said maybe)
If so, why do you think you would get picked on?
The range of answers for the last question were very different, some people said ‘it may not be stylish clothing and someone could bully you because of this.’ However some people thought that school uniform is a bad idea and they had nothing negative to say about wearing your own clothes all of the time.
Some questions have very equal opinions, like question two, but the others there is a clear winner of the votes. We think this because they haven’t been able to, or given the chance to wear their own clothes on a day to day basis at school; this is why they want this.
Some people even questioned why we should wear school uniform in the first place, many schools across the world don’t! one person replied by saying that this makes schools seem more formal places and this helps prevent bullying due to the type of clothing they may choose to wear.
We asked a teacher some questions about school uniform:
